Supported Volunteering at Ouseburn Farm
We are so pleased to announce that our next round of Grow Forward is starting in January 2026, a supported volunteering project for unemployed young people living in the north east.
We will be offering a 4 week course as well as drop ins so we can accommodate as many people as possible.
Our first drop in is Horticulture on Friday 16th January 2026. Step into the life of a Horticulture Volunteer for a day, helping us maintain our green spaces. Tasks include garden and orchard maintenance and planting.
Other upcoming drop-ins are:
Mon 19th January 10am – 2pm: Caring for Small Animals and Reptiles
Fri 23rd January 10am – 2pm: Livestock Experience Day
Tues 27th January 10am – 2pm: Employment in Farming and Agriculture
Our 4 week course will start on Thursday 26th February 2026, 10am – 2pm for 4 weeks, including:
Group volunteering in animal care and horticulture
Employment and wellbeing workshops

HERITAGE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
In 2026 our farm turns 50 and we are looking for volunteers to play a role in collecting and collating visitor’s stories from over the last 50 years as well as taking a key role in 50th birthday celebratory events planning and delivery:

LIVESTOCK VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
As a Livestock Volunteer, you will be required to ‘get your hands dirty.’ You will be involved in feeding, mucking out, leading the animals from stable to pasture as well as general animal welfare.
